Die Zürcher Couturière und Initiantin von “Caraque – le fil rouge”, Rosmarie Amacher, präsentiert in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Textilverband Schweiz zum 10-jährigen Jubiläum eine Vintage Galerie mit Roben grosser Modeschöpfer aus dem 20. und 21. Jahrhundert, gefertigt aus Schweizer Stoffen.

Die Geschichte der in der Schweiz beheimateten Textilkunst sowie die Schätze, die sich über die Jahrzehnte angesammelt haben, drohen in Vergessenheit zu geraten. Die Schweiz – für den durchschnittlichen Zaungast ist sie der Inbegriff für Berge, feine Schokolade, Käse und edle Uhren. Geht es um Mode, wandert der Blick in Metropolen wie Mailand, London oder Paris. Allzu wenigen ist bekannt, dass viele Kreationen, die dort auf den Catwalks gezeigt werden, Schweizer Ursprungs sind. Hinter klingenden Namen wie YSL, Balenciaga, Chanel oder Dior standen nicht nur die Modeschöpfer selbst. Das verlässliche Fundament für ihre Kreationen war und ist bis heute die Schweizer Textilkompetenz.

Mit “Caraque – le fil rouge” macht sich Rosmarie Amacher auf die Suche nach diesen Schätzen, um sie zu bergen und der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich zu machen.

Verführerisches Rascheln von Seidensatin, satter Schimmer von dichtestem Samt, luxuriöser Glanz filigraner Stickereien – dies alles soll aufleben, um als Vorbild und Inspiration die textile Produktion der Gegenwart zu beflügeln.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary
of the Swiss Textiles Award

To mark the 10th anniversary, the Zurich couturière and founder of “Caraque – le fil rouge”, Rosmarie Amacher, in cooperation with the Swiss Textile Federation, is presenting a Vintage Gallery of dresses by legendary fashion designers from the 20th and 21st centuries, all of which were made using Swiss fabrics.

The history of the Swiss art of textiles and the treasures which have accumulated over the decades are at risk of being overlooked. For the casual outside observer, Switzerland is a byword for mountains, fine chocolate, cheese and luxury watches. But when it comes to fashion, all eyes turn to big cities like Milan, London and Paris. Too few people know that many creations displayed on the catwalk of those cities are in fact of Swiss origin. There is more creation behind prestigious names like YSL, Balenciaga, Chanel and Dior than just that of the fashion creators themselves. Their creations have always drawn on dependable Swiss textile expertise, and still do today.

With “Caraque – le fil rouge”, Rosmarie Amacher has set out to rescue and reveal these treasures to the wider fashion world and to the public.

Through the seductive rustle of silk satin, the enchanting shimmer of the densest velvet, and the luxurious gloss of filigree embroidery, she aims to revive the unique language of Swiss textiles used in these iconic garments as a model of inspiration for textile production today.
